Stain To Paint Cabinets

Stain to paint cabinets is the process of caulking seams, priming the previously stained wood, and then painting. ATD will mask off and spray kitchen cabinets, unless requested otherwise by customer, or under a unique circumstance. Spraying cabinets provides a smoother finish.

Stain To Stain Cabinets

With a little effort and a lot of skill, we can apply a stain on top of the existing stain. This allows a transition from a little dark to much darker. Also, we can modify the underlying tone of the cabinets, for example, if there is a strong orange or yellow hue, we can help to minimize it. Currently, we do not re-stain existing cabinets lighter.

Stain Refresh Cabinets

Stain refresh cabinets takes your cabinets back to their original color. It is a process of a light sanding, a wiping stain, and a coat of varnish. This is a simple process that blends in scratches, bumps and bruises that happen over time. The varnish locks in the color and adds a layer of protection.

Faux Cabinets

Faux is French and means “Fake”, but fake in a stylish or elegant way. When something is fauxed by a painter, it is made to look like something it is not. Most often fauxing cabinets means to make them look aged or distressed in a stylish and elegant way. This requires painting cabinets, then applying one or more glazes along with various faux techniques.

We even have a technique that allows you to not have to go through the trouble of emptying your cabinets while still painting the exteriors and both sides of doors. Ask us about low odor alternatives to traditional oil for trim and cabinets. Modern Urethanes give us the most durable option to date. We will be happy to discuss the pros and cons of oil (Alkids) vs Urethane for your particular project at the time of your estimate.

Everything went great, from my initial and subsequent meetings with J.C., to supervisors appearing everyday on the job, to nonstop workers painting. Took five days, and these guys did not let up! They had added difficulty in that my walls are faux painted and I wanted to ensure that they did not damage my walls in any way. They were very meticulous and took extra care to make sure that they taped off to the cabinets instead of the walls and then brush painted on the edges of the cabinets so as not to touch the faux paint, which could not be matched. Extremely pleased with everything! Great job!

Great and professional paint company. Adam our sales rep, was so extremely helpful and pointed out areas that we didn’t even think about, to enhance our home interior/exterior beautification (small things matters). The paint crew were very prompt each day and were attentive to details large and small, and extremely hard workers and efficient. We used ATD recently, and we couldn’t be more pleased. JC was very professional, explained everything in detail, and gave us a quote before leaving our home. Victor, the foreman, and his crew, transformed our dark brown kitchen and laundry cabinets, through spray painting, into a beautiful shade of white, and our island is now a bright country blue. Our equally dark bathroom cabinets have now been brushed a light, light gray. What a difference painting makes! They also painted the doors in the bathrooms, and baseboards that needed painting after floor replacement. We highly recommend ATD.
